About Nikki

Nikki graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and electronic media with emphasis in political science in December of 2005.

Before she became a reporter and anchor with WHAG, Nikki worked as a Sports Marketing Coordinator for Red Zebra Broadcasting/ESPN Radio in Washington, D.C. While in D.C. she was active in Arlington Independent Media as an Access Producer.

During college, Nikki was the President of The Vol Channel (TVC), the campus-run station in Knoxville. In addition to being TVC President, Nikki created, hosted, produced, wrote and directed two original programs. Nikki also anchored the news for TVC live 5 days a week as well as co-hosted a sports show. Nikki was also a reoccurring show host for “Inside the Orange” that aired on WBIR-TV. While in college, Nikki also studied abroad in Australia, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary.

When she is not at the station, Nikki enjoys volunteering with the Washington Humane Society, and is a model in the annual Fashion for Paws fundraiser. She is also a member of the Yellow Ribbons Organization, a volunteer with the ALS Association, a member of the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross in Washington County and several other charitable organizations in the area.

Nikki is now the anchor and producer for the noon and 5pm show on WHAG-NBC25, but continues to report as well. She also writes a bi-weekly column for the Radio and Television Digital News Association (www.RTDNA.com)

A native of Kingsport, TN, this southern belle loves traveling. She has spent time in Colombia, Australia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Germany, Hungary and Austria. She spends her free time watching college football, dancing, reading and hanging out with her family and friends and her cat Louis Vuitton.
