Nikki is the morning anchor for WKRN - ABC Channel 2 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Nikki is an Emmy-award winning journalist and graduate of the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in journalism with emphasis in political science.
Before working at WKRN, Nikki was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WUSA-9 in Washington, D.C. She has also worked at WLEX in Lexington, KY and WHAG in Hagerstown, MD. Prior to that, she worked for Red Zebra Broadcasting/ESPN Radio and the Redskins in Washington, D.C.
Nikki also runs a media consulting company called Grunt Dog Productions, where she helps companies, brands and individuals with anything they need from social media to traditional. More on Grunt Dog Productions here.
Nikki loves to travel and aspires to have her scratch-off world map clear. She's traveled to a dozen countries and studied abroad in Australia, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary.
Nikki is an animal advocate and is passionate about promoting adoption at local shelters. While in DC, she worked with the Washington Humane Society as "model" in the annual Fashion for Paws fundraiser for 7 years. Since volunteering with the Humane Society, she has raised more than $60,000 (and counting) for the homeless animals of the D.C. area. In 2012, she was the 'Washingtonian of the Year,' raising $47,000 for the Humane Society.
As a reporter, Nikki has moved around quite a bit. In each community she's lived in, she's made it her mission to give back. Nikki has volunteered with organizations such as the ALS Association, Humane Societies, the Tourettes Syndrome Association, the American Red Cross, and the Yellow Ribbons Organization, as well as several other local groups.
At her core, Nikki is a writer, so when she's not writing for work, she's blogging for the Radio and Television Digital News Association . She writes a column for RTDNA and also covers events for the association such as the First Amendment Awards and the annual convention. She also runs a lifestyle blog called Nikki B On TV.com.
Nikki has covered stories throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, North Carolina and Georgia. Her reports have consisted of the devastating tornadoes across Kentucky , hurricanes in the Carolinas, high-profile murder trials, the disappearance of Hannah Graham, the landmark same-sex marriage decision at SCOTUS, the Philadelphia train derailment, the Baltimore riots, the Columbia Mall shooting, the White House, Presidential elections, the Inauguration and many more. She traveled with the University of Kentucky basketball team to their 2012 National Championship and covered the Kentucky Derby for years. You might catch her on Investigation Discovery, on an episode "The Long Drive Home." She was asked to contribute to the show after her reporting on the disappearance of a young woman.
Outside of the news, Nikki is a sports fanatic, specifically, college football---and especially, the Tennessee Volunteers.
Nikki is a new mom to a baby girl, Andi and a momma to two rescue animals, Louis the cat and Reggie White the beagle mix (yes, named after the great Minister of Defense).
Raised in East Tennessee, the daughter of a USMC Colonel and special-education teacher and the oldest of three girls. She lives in Nashville with her husband.
